Cliche wisdom is criminally underrated. I am 100% guilty of eschewing it because it sounds so saccharine on the lips - but - it stays around for a reason. It's typically right. For example, "Be kind".

When you're craving apple pie but you're lazy? Try this:
*Pillsbury pie crust (microwave 15 seconds to get pliable)
*Butter a cast iron pie pan or ceramic
*Put in pie crust on the bottom - finesse to fit
*Put in 1 to 2 cans of pie filling (Great Value or Duncan Hines)

*Put second pie crust on top - finesse to fit
*Cut some vents
*Melt some butter - add some vanilla and brush the top - paying attention to the crust
*Dust with cinnamon and sugar
*Pop in the oven at 375 for 20ish mins
*Cover in aluminum when it gets brown - back for another 20ish
