We’re grateful to Nunez for bringing 1881 in to support its machining program—and even prouder to see these guys take their skills forward, from continuing their education at Southeastern Louisiana University to careers at Laitram and Lockheed Martin. @Nunez_CC@oursoutheastern
Another milestone worth celebrating! After earning his HiSET at JOB1, Rigel came to 1881, worked in our shop, and joined our machining class at Nunez Community College. Now he’s beginning his new career at Laitram. Congratulations, Rigel! @Nunez_CC@Intralox@LaitramLLC
We’re grateful for our partnership with Nunez Community College and proud to see another one of our students — who put in extra hours practicing at 1881’s shop — begin his new career at Laitram. Congratulations, Jeremy, aka Too Short! @Nunez_CC@LaitramLLC@Intralox
Congratulations to Joseph, one of the first students to train in Nunez Community College’s revitalized machining program taught by 1881, on starting his new career at Lockheed Martin! @Nunez_CC@LockheedMartin
Jayden had been part of 1881 since the 7th grade—from our afterschool program, to our homeschool program, to our apprenticeship, and eventually to full-time employment at Laitram.
So we were so pleased when Jayden texted us to share that he had been promoted to Machinist 1.
Our apprentices lit it up—now it’s your turn to bid at #GulfCoastBank#auctionsinaugust
Light up the room with these interactive LED tables—made by apprentices at The 1881 Institute—glowing with Mardi Gras and American flag themes.
