🕋 The Mecca Joint Defence Agreement:

💎 The agreement, called the “Mecca Joint Deterrence Agreement”, was signed in the city of Mecca, the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) on Friday 7 August 2026 by Turkish President, Saudi Crown Prince and the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

🇵🇰 🇸🇦🇹🇷 It is a trilateral mutual-defence pact intended to deepen military and security cooperation between the three countries.

⚡️ Its central principle is that an armed attack against any one of the three nations will be regarded as an attack against all three, creating a collective-deterrence commitment.

✍🏽 In a statement, the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the joint defence deal signed was “guided by the longstanding historical ties among the three states, based on the enduring bonds of brotherhood and Islamic solidarity that unite them, and building upon their shared strategic interests and longstanding defence cooperation”.

📝 The agreement reflects “the three states’ shared commitment to further strengthening their collective security and to promoting peace, security, and stability in the region and beyond, in pursuit of a secure and prosperous future”, it added.

📚 The Islamic Position:

Imām Abdur-Rahmān Nāsir As-Sa’di (Allāh’s mercy be upon him) said:

“Allah, the Most High, has said:

‘Indeed, the believers are but brothers, so make peace between your brothers.’

From the most important matters of striving in Allah’s cause in these times is the establishment of treaties, and strengthening the bonds of love and brotherhood between the Islamic governments, whilst maintaining for each state its independence, its sovereignty, and its rights in both its internal and external affairs.

Alongside this, there must be mutual assistance, cooperation, and solidarity between them; that they should be like a single hand against anyone who transgresses against them or takes from their rights.

It is necessary that they become united in their voice and their stance, that they facilitate economic matters among themselves, and that each one draws closer to the other for the benefit of all.

They should strive with diligence in this affair, working with wisdom appropriate to the present circumstances. They must expend effort in achieving this goal and in removing all obstacles and barriers that hinder it, regardless of how difficult or heavy these obstacles may appear.
Indeed, the enemies of Islam have placed many impediments in the way of the Muslims.

Yet with the grant of success from Allāh, and with reliance upon Him, and with firm resolve, these barriers can be removed. Matters that appear difficult will become easy by the permission of Allāh…”

Reward That Never Ends

Allah, the Exalted, said: “Except those who believe and do righteous deeds, for them is a reward without end.” (Surah al-Tin)

Ibn Abbas (radiyallahu anhu) said: “Any man who used to do righteous deeds while he was strong and young, then became unable to do it, the reward of those deeds continue to be written for him until he dies.”

It Is Permissible to Recite the Quran Quickly to Gain Reward, Even Without Reflection (Tadabbur)

Imam Alam al-Din al-Sakhawi said:

“The Noble Quran is recited for [different purposes]. It is recited for learning; in this case, one should focus on smaller portions and repeat [to memorise]. It is also recited for reflection and contemplation; in this case, one should recite with a slow and measured recitation (tartil) and pause [to ponder the meanings]. It is also recited to attain reward through abundant recitation; in this case, one may recite as much as possible, and he is not blameworthy if he chooses to recite quickly.”

Then al-Sakhawi mentioned the practice of the Salaf of frequently completing the Quran, especially during the seasons of goodness such as Ramadan.
