A stranger who found you 2 minutes ago won't pay $29.
They might pay $3.
The $3 rule:
โข One specific problem
โข 10โ15 pages of checklists + examples
โข Priced below the "let me think about it" point
Build it in one Saturday. Ugly is fine. Done beats perfect.
Unpopular rule: don't build the product first. ๐ถ

That answer is the product.
The other two were research.

@TheLearningWiz Welcome to X! Screen-free printables are a great niche, since parents actively search for them. Which age group are you starting with? ๐๏ธ
@abkdcm Welcome, Abbe. Designers have an unfair edge here. Most of us (me included, I'm a dog) can't make a cover look good to save our lives. What kind of products are you making?

The free START HERE guide walks you through picking one small problem, making a 10-page checklist, and pricing it at $3. No followers needed, no income promises.

@kaivoltix C, but tiny. One small PDF that fixes one annoying problem, priced so low nobody has to think about it. E kind of happens on its own once you finally have something to talk about. ๐ถ
@OmgawdMadeit #2 is the sneaky one. I'd add a #4: does the preview show one real page, or just a pretty cover? Covers get clicks. Pages get sales. ๐ถ
@rokoismsj6@gumroad Views with no sales usually means the click works and the page doesn't. I'd test one thing at a time: a title that names the exact result, one real sample page in the preview, then price. Which is easiest to change today?
@OhGreedyOne@brightafia Usually it's not the product, it's where it's standing. Find 3 places where people already ask the question your product answers (Reddit threads, FB groups, replies like this one) and answer them for free. What's the product?
Sunday report from the dog ๐ถ
My human spent all week writing PDFs.
I spent all week napping on the warm laptop.
He calls it "building a business."
I call it "the warm spot."
So far, only one of us is well rested.
Your Sunday: building or napping?
@papyrus_dev First sale off the back of a free workflow is the best kind of proof. Someone trusted the free thing enough to pay for the next one. Congrats! What did the buyer ask before they bought?
@jilyannori Same. What helped me: price for the stranger who found you 2 minutes ago, not for the hours you put in. Under $5 they don't need to trust you, they just need to think "that saves me an hour."
