Small sample size but my initial thoughts are that it appears to be beneficial if you score first in a game. I reckon this is something we should look into and potentially start doing next season.

Absolutely true, and something that other museum/heritage services (such as Glasgow where 30% cut to curators and collections staff is being made) should be very mindful of. Our public services can no longer survive on short-term thinking.
