@mattyglesias On Israel, be the first politician to say that Iran, Hamas, Hez, Israel and PLO all share equal blame for the disaster. Only solution is two states + Iran out of Lebanon, Syria and Palestinian territories +Israel out of occupied terr. Everyone must help rebuild and give an inch.
@kofinas@HiddenForcesPod Terrific interview and summary. Where was C. Rice when the Russians were being humiliated? She was a close advisor to GHWB and GWB at the moments when that was important re 1991 and 2007. Despite not being in Clinton WH, this would seem to be a in her portfolio and an oversight
@TheStalwart Here in lies the problem: they have no ideas about much of anything because they don't know what they stand for anymore. One serious proposition would be to get Federal/state spending under control a la Clinton. $2T annual deficits ain't good and taxing the rich won't fix it.
@bleuguy@paulg This should be the fattest pitch in half a century for the Dems and they are needlessly shooting themselves in the foot. Rs do have failed policies so Ds need to counter with their own thoughtful policies - they are not doing. They are defining themselves in terms of Rs.
@yrechtman We are in a "this time is different phase." It will come to an end, but sadly that doesn't help companies building good products stay alive while everyone around them has lost their minds. Good article.
@Noahpinion I think anyone who does the blame Israel for everything schtick without giving Hezbollah, Hamas, and Iran the same heat and scrutiny is intellectually dishonest. Netanyahu deserves the heat, but the absence of any criticism of the others for their role is very controversial.
When will this switch get flipped? Investor dollars can't subsidize models and applications forever. At some point the tide will go out.

@wquist Would not be surprised if primes step in to the breach with their balance sheets in order to stay relevant. The question is whether acquisitions of nimble and innovative teams will die inside of these beurocratic behemoths.
@daveclark85@PeterJ_Walker In hindsight, not surprising that 90th percentile in 2017 onwards is so low. This was the beginning of the Saas blow off that is now being eviscerated.
@johnfelix123 Looks like they had $1B cash & equivs on their BS and were "throwing off cash." They did spin off their AI unit. They raised $1B over two rounds in 2021! A lot a great firms/angels invested at seed/A in 2013/15. Are they pissed at Late-Stage firms? Hopefully this is a catalyst.
@paulg A mathematical proof is a series of many steps where one hallucination can be lethal to the whole thing. Lean is a language that is being used to compile proofs in order to help confirm correctness. Writing is not rigorous in the same way.
@mattyglesias Poll I saw yesterday showed Dems net approval one point lower than GOP. That's insane! Could they whiff at this fat political pitch? Yes. Need more in the mold of @RepMGP. Solve basic problems. Stay away from culture and identity wars. DSA platform is crazy. Abolish Senate?
