🗣️: you were expecting a tough one. did you expect it to be this tough though?
carlos: yes, to be honest, yes. when i saw the track map and the problems we have this year, i knew it was going to be the track that would be most difficult for us. also, the hotter temperatures, everything is going against us this weekend.
and on top of that, on my side of the garage, a bit like in spa, we spent fp1, fp2, fp3 with a lot of issues on the rear of the car that we couldn't get rid of. by quali, we probably put some patches that solved it and maybe we did a better job, but there's still some serious things going on.
having said that, we knew this coming here. the good thing is aston has proven to us that if you add downforce to the car, you go quicker. *laughs* so i think we know what we need to do moving forward.
Michael Manning, t/m vorig jaar werkzaam bij Red Bull en als control engineer de laatste jaren onder meer verantwoordelijk voor de starts van Max Verstappen, is aan de slag gegaan bij Williams als Chief Engineer.

F1 manufacturers and the FIA have agreed to stagger the shift to 60/40 ICE/battery power split over next two years.
So 20kW increase to ICE next year before 50kW lift for 2028. Means 58/42 split next year. #F1.
This weekend I make history with 96 race starts for Williams, the most in the team’s history, overtaking the legend that is Nigel Mansell. It’s a surreal feeling to have my name alongside some of the true greats of this sport and this iconic team.
Thank you, Nigel, for your kind words and for allowing me to race with your helmet this weekend a gesture I won’t forget.
Proud of this journey with Williams.
🇺🇸 Very solid Sunday. The pace was good, the race was well-executed and we were comfortably in the midfield fight. Still very far, but we’ve made progress. It shows what can be achieved when we get our heads down. Let's keep up the good work.

SoyMotor reports that “Carlos is spending a significant amount of time at the factory, far more than usual for a typical season.
“He has accepted that his role isn't limited to driving, nor is it simply about going through the motions because there's nothing at stake; rather, he's an active part of the team's rebuilding process.
His presence at the factory allows for direct contact with the engineers, closer involvement in development, and, above all, a clearer alignment between what happens on the track and what is being done in the simulator and in the technical departments.”
Good point, the NASA caption doesn’t mention it. I don’t know where the info specific to these captions originated, but the identification of Saturn/Mars/Mercury does seem consistent with the current planetary positions (this screenshot approx. -50 to -60 degree rotation from Integrity’s photographic perspective):
Earthset.
The Artemis II crew captured this view of an Earthset on April 6, 2026, as they flew around the Moon. The image is reminiscent of the iconic Earthrise image taken by astronaut Bill Anders 58 years earlier as the Apollo 8 crew flew around the Moon.
We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That's us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.
Carlos Sainz, who has been one of the most vocal in warning about the potential for accidents based on the closing speeds, has said he's excited to see what new regulations can be introduced for Miami:
"We as GPDA, we've warned the FIA that these accidents are going to happen a lot with this set of regulations, and we need to change something soon, if we don't want them to happen.
"It was 50G I heard, just imagine what kind of crash you could have in Vegas, Baku, etc.
"I hope it serves as an example, and the teams listen to the drivers, and not so much to the teams and some people who said the racing was okay, because the racing is not okay." #F1 #JapaneseGP
