🚨 #AFCONSurvivalGuide: The FPL Reset is HERE. 🌍
The Festive fixtures (GW15–GW19) crash directly into AFCON (GW17–GW22). To survive, you must leverage the 5 FREE TRANSFERS coming in Gameweek 16.
🎯 The AFCON Strategy
1. GW16 Safety: Players should be available for GW16 as clubs can retain them until December 15. Maximize returns from high-impact players like Salah until then.
2. The 5 FTs: You receive 5 Free Transfers in GW16 automatically. Aim to have 0 FTs remaining for the GW15 deadline to maximize short-term punts and use all 5 FTs for the required AFCON squad overhaul.
✅ AFCON-Proof Players (BUY/KEEP)
Target these players whose nations did not qualify, offering stability through GW17–GW22:
• Mohammed Kudus (TOT): Ghana did not qualify. Excellent creative metrics.
• Antoine Semenyo (BOU): Ghana did not qualify. High shot volume (1.75 Shots in Box per 90).
• Beto (EVE): Guinea-Bissau did not qualify.
• Yankuba Minteh (BHA): Gambia did not qualify.
✈️ Mandatory Transfers OUT (Pre-GW17)
You must plan to sell these major FPL assets who are scheduled to leave for their national teams:
• Mohamed Salah (LIV) 🇪🇬
• Bryan Mbeumo (MUN) 🇨🇲 (Monitor his departure—Man Utd requested a delay, potentially keeping him through GW16/17).
• Iliman Ndiaye (EVE) & Idrissa Gueye (EVE) 🇸🇳.
• Nott'm Forest is heavily impacted, losing Aina (injured until Jan 3), Awoniyi, and Boly.
📉 Fixture & Injury Red Flags
• Injury Alert: Major players are ruled out across the compressed period: Kieran Trippier (NEW) out until Jan 4, Nick Pope (NEW) out until Dec 26, and Gabriel (ARS) out until Dec 27.
• Avoid AVL & SUN: Aston Villa (#19) and Sunderland (#20) have the worst overall fixture difficulty ratings (FDR) from GW15 to GW20.
Strategy: Use the 5 FTs to secure AFCON-safe attackers and invest in defenses like Newcastle (#1 FDR) or Man City (#2 FDR), who have minimal AFCON risk.

🛡️ DEFENDERS & GOALKEEPERS
Reliable Backlines:
Injuries (Trippier, Saliba) and suspensions (Senesi) hit the defense hard. Time to restructure! 🤕
🛡️ DEFENDER BUYS
1. Timber (ARS): Top defender buy. Back the Arsenal defense (Brentford home is an amazing defensive fixture). 🧱
2. Munoz: Good for minutes and attacking output, with strong fixtures (3 of the next 4 favorable). Warning: 1 yellow away from suspension. ⚠️
3. Malik Thiaw (4.9m): Super useful long-term asset, seemingly nailed on. Strong defensive contributions (52 Defcon in 6 GWs).
📉 DEFENDER SELLS
• Senesi: Definite sell. Suspended for GW14 (5th yellow card), followed by rough fixtures. 🟨
• Trippier: Confirmed out for a month.
• Pedro Porro: Sell due to rotation risk, weak fixtures, and weak defense.
🧤 GOALKEEPER PICKS
• BUY (Long-term): Raya (ARS): Super reliable long-term keeper. Top projected keeper for GW14.
• BUY (Cheap): Verbruggen (4.4m): Going massively under the radar. 29 points in the last six GWs. Decent fixtures.
• SELL: Nick Pope: Consider selling due to injury issues and rotation risk.

🚨 GW14 DEADLINE ALERT & ROTATION RISK 🚨
GW14 begins Tuesday! ⏰ This is a rapid turnaround with games on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
The major theme for this midweek round is Rotation Risk. 🔄
Target players with guaranteed minutes (GMs).
• Actionable Tip: Focus transfers on Midfielders and Defenders, as the forward market is "difficult" for buys right now.
• Strategy: Be mindful of players returning from injury (Victor Gyokeres) or those who played a full 90 in GW13 (Reece James) as they are prime rotation candidates.

🚀 FORWARDS: The Difficult Slot
The forward market is not the greatest, making buys tough. Focus on necessary sales! 📉
🛒 FORWARD BUYS
• Woltemade: Likely the preferred buy. Good fixtures, good data, and mostly on penalties. 🎯
• Flemming (5.3m): Cheap option, scored 4 goals recently and is a penalty taker. Good for minutes.
🛑 FORWARD AVOIDS
• Thiago: AVOID! He plays Arsenal away. Wait one more week—this is the toughest fixture of his season.🚫
• Richarlison: Avoid buying (or sell if owned). Rotation risk, rough fixture, and very weak data (0.6 xG).
📉 FORWARD SELLS
• Isidor: Easy sell. Barely taking shots. Faces terrible fixtures: Liverpool, Man City away, Newcastle, Brighton.
• Ekitike (8.5m): Rotation risk. Difficult to justify the price given the risk.
🙌 KEEP
• Mateta & Joao Pedro: Good fixtures. Keep, despite concerns over reliability and potential early substitutions.
• Woltemade: Looking positive and encouraging. Good fixtures vs Spurs (H) and Burnley (H).
