@NewStarterFurlo a quick twitter poll. If you were due to start after 28th Feb - what happened - did you start, or were you delayed? If you started is there work for you to do, or not? #newstarterfurlough@MartinSLewis
@RealAndrewChalk@BrewDogJames They’ve had 198,000 members of staff over this period of time? Wow that is worrying, no wonder they need to crowdfund…to pay that many salaries?
@JimHarraHMRC@RishiSunak urgent clarity is needed - HRMC referring to guidance that doesn’t cover what happens for those quarantining - can they use the furlough scheme where work is available like sheilders could and those with childcare issues could. @HMRCpressoffice
@HMRCcustomers can those retruninf from abroad who have to quarantine be placed on furlough if work is available; in ths ame way Shielders and those with Child Care issue could?

Why is it that Personal Finance journalists are writing about redundancy? And getting it wrong. Come on @guardian@pcollinson a simple goole search could have put this right or better yet, get an HR expert to write these articles

@fireryk2020 Quite difficult to give a view as it will depend on the wording in your contract. Sounds like you are taking the right action if the employer has not told you what constitutes ‘manager’s discretion’
So Boris has effectively said to employers ‘if you can follow social distancing you can open and your workers can come back’. It is still down to the employer to ensure the workplace is safe. it is down to the employer to decide if their workers return.
@AbbieCadabra If the work is there the employee should be doing it. Not sure why they’d bring in a temp to backfil as they wouldn’t be able to claim the grant for the permanent employee’s salary.
@JasonBiddo An employee cannot work for the employer while furloughed. If he is back at work the company might not be claiming the grant - only they know that...
@MartinSLewis can you make sure your emails are accurate please..! It is 80% capped at £2,500 and then minus usual deductions. Employers don’t need added questions becuase you forgot the detail. Thank you on behalf of businesses and HR Teams!
It is the principle that matters and signing the EDM would show his constituents that he is listening. By not signing @ranil is showing that he is happy to leave people behind. @NewStarterJust#Conservatives@RishiSunak
@TheHRGuy_@VirendraSharma@ranil Ranil doesn't sign EDMs as he believes they have little legislative effect, but are a significant cost to the taxpayer. This goes for all EDMs, regardless of the subject.
