@chilternrailway Aren't you owned by Arriva? Maybe take aim at your profits & tax ethics and people won't feel compelled to skip fares. 😡
Fuel duty frozen for over a decade, yet rail prices rise year on year, while you shovel the proceeds off to the Cayman Islands!
Shame on you!
@SaskiaHeijltjes This is why long ago I just decided to teach myself bike mechanics.
It's a learning curve with lots of black smudges on jeans, but it's also very satisfying.
DM me if you need any help/advice (non-professional)
@drewsnx I'll take a poke at defending this (slightly).
I wonder if, a bit like buses, there's a reluctance to use services because of the uncertainty over destination and changes. One big mess of Orange could push ppl away if it takes a bit of map reading & translation to work out.
@RobbieDavies @john_cieslik @DanicaPriest@misterduncan@CHazelgrove Rob are you talking about national policy or local policy,?
National is driven by ultra-wealth taxes and simply moving investment from unsustainable (eg roads) to sustainable (eg trains).
At a local level, it's not so much about how much is spent but regulating how it's spent.
@PoliticsPollss Do people saying immigration know:
A) Net migration is not the same as population growth (which is far lower)
B) Immigrants make a huge proportion of NHS staff
C) Most immigrants are young. The major NHS burden is from the aged
D) The Daily Mail is propaganda, not journalism
@properpilgrim92 @DanicaPriest Probably a reasonable point
@DanicaPriest this could also harm any potential criminal proceedings. If the intention is to make a formal complaint, recommend video is removed or faces blurred.
@carolvorders Sorry, but SO SICK OF THESE POLLS!
Polls should NOT ask "Who would you vote for?"...
...but, "Who would you 'LIKE' to vote for?"
This same old subtlety is undermining fair politics and creating a tired perpetual two-party DEADLOCK!
Please do better @carolvorders
