Less than 4 months ago I weighed in at 128lbs after many months of sickness (lost 45-50lbs) due to my Crohn's disease and was hospitalized.
I've had to rebuild my body from near zero several times in my life due to health issues. And statistically it probably won't be the last time. Thankfully muscle memory is a real thing.
Being so lean and muscle depleted that it is painful to sit on a wood chair isn't fun for the mindset. But instead of being a little bitch and dwelling I started out with home workouts with my bench and adjustable dumbbells.
Weight came back fairly quick, strength was a bit slower but I'm getting there.
This weekend I was able to work my squats back up to
300lbs 3x5
315lbs 1x2
There is still much work to do, but I'm still blown away how fast the body can recover given a good mindset and putting in serious work. I never anticipated to be back to this level within a year but tried not to think about it and put my head down to work.
Long story short, don't dwell on your problems, set out to do something about it and get to work.
