U.S. Transportation Command was activated in 1987 to unify global air, land, and sea transportation required during wartime.
Today, warfighters rely on @US_TRANSCOM to deliver whatโs needed to keep threats from reaching our shores while moving aid to where itโs needed most.
On this day in 2008, @USAfricaCommand became an independent, stand-alone combatant command tasked with working alongside our Allies and partners across the continent to promote a secure, stable, and prosperous Africa.
Celebrating 24 years of @USNorthernCmd!
#NORTHCOM ensures we are ready to respond to any threat to the homeland. The command supports operations protecting our borders, countering drug trafficking, combatting terrorism, and providing domestic disaster relief.

Today marks the 24th birthday of U.S. Northern Command!
Activated on October 1, 2002, in the aftermath of September 11, USNORTHCOM was established to defend the homeland and coordinate Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA).
From deterring strategic threats across our air and maritime approaches to deploying surge capabilities alongside federal partners during hurricanes, wildfires, and national crises, our joint force remains trained, postured, and ready.
Thank you to our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Guardians, Coast Guardsmen, civilian teammates, and international allies who keep our nation safe every single day.
We Have the Watch.

More than 80% of our military are #enlisted personnel, yet throughout most of our history, senior leadership on the Joint Staff was primarily commissioned officers. That changed on this day in 2005, when a distinct position and rank was established to serve as the principal enlisted advisor to the highest-ranking officer in the U.S. Military.
Today, the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman (SEAC) provides critical guidance on joint and combined total force integration, enlisted development, force health, and readiness. @Official_SEAC
This week, @WRNMMC_DHA welcomed Captain Lanny Littlejohn (USN) as its new director. #MilitaryMedicine plays a critical role in combat readiness; we look forward to seeing this great institution continue to grow and evolve under Capt. Littlejohnโs leadership.
During @USNorthernCmdโs Exercise #FalconPeak 26.2, Joint Interagency Task Force 401 helped test, refine, and connect advanced counter-small unmanned aircraft systems (C-sUAS) capabilities.ย
#NationalSecurity is a team sport. We are committed to ensuring our warfighters are armed with the most advanced #MilitaryTech in the world, fully integrated, and empowered to defeat any threat.
Gaining and maintaining operational control of low-altitude airspace requires complete unity of effort across government partners. At Falcon Peak 26.2, USNORTHCOM and JIATF-401 are integrating operational lessons directly from the Southern Border.
By testing counter-drone systems alongside Joint Task Force-Southern Border and interagency partners, our teams are identifying the exact tools required to detect and interdict unauthorized drones used for illicit surveillance and smuggling.
Developing shared tactics and integrated communications ensures our forces maintain decisive domain awareness along the nation's borders.

Nearly 81,000 U.S. personnel remain missing from past conflicts. On #POWMIA Recognition Day, we pause to remember their sacrifices and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to bring them home. We will never forget. #UntilTheyAreHome#NotForgotten
On this day in 1947, @usairforce officially became an independent branch of the U.S. Military. We owe our enduring air superiority to the brave men and women throughout history who have dedicated their lives in service of this mission.
America asks our service members and military families to serve far from home, in demanding environments, and at a high operational tempo. The Liberty Wing answers that call every day.
Today at RAF Lakenheath, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine and Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman David Isom thanked the men and women of the 48th Fighter Wing who deliver every day, strengthening our collective deterrence and demonstrating what it means to stand ready alongside our closest allies.
Our readiness starts with people: Airmen and their families who train hard, execute the mission, and remain ready whenever called.
To the entire Liberty Wing community, thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your commitment to the mission.
Twenty-five years ago, America was attacked.
2,977 lives were lost. At the Pentagon, 184 never made it home.
But from that terrible day came an extraordinary response.
Americans embraced the challenge, and a generation of young men and women answered the call to serve.
As Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Dan Caine reflected earlier this week: โThey saw the chance to serve something greater than themselves, knowing full well that they were signing up to go into combat.โ
Twenty-five years later, we remember those we lost, honor the families who carry their absence, and recognize the courage of all who answered the call.
We remember. We honor. We serve.
#NeverForget
On this day 25 years ago, thousands of lives were cut short and millions were forever changed. In the face of tragedy, we witnessed extraordinary courage and the unbreakable resolve of our nation. We will never forget the fallen, the heroes who answered the call, or the families who carry their legacy. #NeverForget
On Sept. 1 at Hill Air Force Base, Gen. Dan Caine met with Airmen from the active duty 388th Fighter Wing and Air Force Reserve 419th Fighter Wing to hear directly from the force and thank them for their service.
He recognized several Airmen for outstanding performance and contributions to the mission. Their professionalism, readiness, and commitment help ensure the Joint Force can generate combat airpower when and where it is needed.
On Sept. 1 at Hill Air Force Base, Gen. Dan Caine met with Airmen from the 649th Munitions Squadron and mission-support teams from the 75th and 388th wings who build, sustain, and support the capabilities our Joint Force relies on every day.
He recognized several Airmen for outstanding service and contributions to mission readiness. Their skill, discipline, and attention to detail are essential to maintaining a ready and capable force.
Today, Gen. Dan Caine joined Australian CDF Adm. Mark Hammond and New Zealand CDF Air Marshal Tony Davies in Victoria, Canada, marking 75 years since the ANZUS Treaty.
Our nations remain committed to practical cooperation, capable and ready forces, and a peaceful, secure, and prosperous Indo-Pacific.

As #USSPACECOM celebrates 7 years as a combatant command today, we pause to reflect on our history and legacy of defending the space domain, and ensuring there's #NeverADayWithoutSpace.

#OTD in 1949, Gen. of the Army Omar N. Bradley was sworn in as the 1st Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. His leadership established the foundation of today's modern, integrated Joint Force. We proudly honor his legacy of service and strategic vision. ๐บ๐ธ๐ฆ
On this day in 1790, Congress authorized 10 vessels to enforce tariff and trade laws and combat smuggling at sea. Today, @USCG serves as our nationโs foremost steward of marine safety and security.
To the men and women who support this mission, thank you for your service.
