🔺A senior Iranian official rejected Trump’s claim that Iran asked the US to continue talks.

“We have not sent any message to the American side regarding the continuation of peace negotiations,” he said, adding that “diplomatic engagement stems solely from the mediators’ insistence” that the U.S. has expressed a “desire to create a path for Trump to withdraw” from the war.

🔺Trump continues to flail in his effort to manufacture a victory narrative and Iran has refused to provide him with one. This has continued a cycle of Trump making grand threats to intensify the war and sporadic US bombing of Iran. Trump is now claiming the ceasefire is finished but talks will still continue.

🔺The Iranian official said that Iran will not tolerate any attempts by the U.S. to subvert Iranian authority over the Strait of Hormuz.

“In recent days, Trump has issued direct instructions in an attempt to violate the fifth provision of the [MOU] by imposing uncoordinated vessel movements in the Strait of Hormuz, bypassing Iran’s monitoring mechanism,” he said. “From our perspective, the violation of any single provision of the [MOU] constitutes a breach of the agreement as a whole.”

“We will not, under any circumstances, permit the disruption of the established arrangements and monitoring mechanisms in the Strait of Hormuz,“ he added.
