Last year they loved Amulet, Witch Boy, Big Nate, anything Raina Telegemeier. They also liked a lot of the weird but true nonfiction books and steve Jenkins has some great nonfiction like life sized.

Today, 4th grade mathematicians used sense making strategies to multiply fractions. Students did a great job thinking, sharing, and extending their thinking to this 5th grade standard!

4th graders thought flexibly and found multiple ways to solve an equal share problem. They compared and contrasted representations and strategies. It was a great way to kick off our second unit in fractions! 😊
