Did you know PTSD looks different for everyone? Symptoms include flashbacks, nightmares, severe anxiety & emotional numbness. Join us in raising awareness for the survivors who deserve access to trauma-informed care. #PTSDAwareness#PTSDAwarenessMonth#TraumaRecovery#TRC#NATRC
"Trauma is underrated as a driver of crime, and it can be interrupted."
Right now, the funding that makes interruption possible is disappearing. Five California Trauma Recovery Centers (TRCs) will lose state funding on July 1 as Prop 36 reshapes the dollars that supported them.
The UC Davis Health TRC is one of those five centers. Its team plans to continue serving existing patients pro bono rather than leave survivors without support. When providers are willing to work for free rather than abandon survivors, it's clear the system needs support.
TRCs exist for survivors of violent crime who've historically fallen through the cracks: the uninsured, under-resourced, or overlooked by the traditional mental health system. Learn more at https://t.co/I9oyW7grHZ. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth#TraumaRecovery#VictimServices
The Trauma Recovery Center model of care help survivors take steps to heal while also moving towards returning to a regular life. Learn more by watching this video featuring Dr. Louis, Director of the JCCGCI Trauma Recovery Center. #traumarecovery#traumarecoverycenter#trc
Today we pause to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country. At the NATRC, we remain dedicated to supporting survivors and standing with the communities forever changed by their loss.#MemorialDay
The survivors who need help the most are often the least likely to know it exists. If you or someone you know has experienced violence, help is closer than you think. No barriers. No wrong door. Find a TRC near you: https://t.co/lp4gYhdOuH

California pioneered the Trauma Recovery Center model, and these centers help rebuild lives while reducing long-term public-service costs. The time to act is now.
Five California trauma recovery centers, including UC Davis Health in Sacramento, lost state grant funding this year as Prop 36 shrinks the pool that powers these critical services. https://t.co/d2IzUVb22t
The National Alliance of Trauma Recovery Centers is urging state leaders to step in with $34 million in bridge funding to stabilize the network. The May Revision will be a turning point.
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), one in five youth has a diagnosable mental, emotional, or behavioral disorder, and for many, that struggle is rooted in trauma they never got help to process.
Trauma Recovery Centers (TRCs) work to change that. By connecting children and families to integrated mental health and trauma services, TRCs help break cycles that, left unaddressed, can last a lifetime. To find a TRC near you, visit https://t.co/8t2oz1Shfq
Mental health, much like trauma, touches every part of life. Recovering from trauma requires specialized care to reduce PTSD and anxiety symptoms, process memories and bring back feelings of safety and comfort.
Today is Missing or Murdered Indigenous Persons Awareness Day. May 5 was chosen to honor Hanna Harris, a 21-year-old member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe who went missing on July 4, 2013. Her story is one of thousands.
Trauma Recovery Centers serve survivors of violent crime and work to remove barriers to care, so no one is left without support because of where they live or what they've been through.
