Alex Skandalis: A Peek Through the 👀 of an Assigner |
@AlexUnitedUmps offers unique perspective with excerpts from clinic talk. As co-owner of @theNJSAB, Coordinator, Assigner, Alex delivers message derived from thousands of annual assignments & numerous admin conversations!
Think about everything you do on a baseball field including before and after the game. You are representing much more than yourself out there - never forget that.
Enough situations to manage organically come up during a game - don’t become a situation creator - showing up late, hugging one of the coaches, talking to the fans, arguing w/partner on field, telling a coach its your fourth game of the day or getting in the handshake line.
Identifying new umpires has been, and always will be, a priority of our org. With our sister company, @theNJSAB, led by Regional Umpires @AlexUnitedUmps and Steve Leonardo, we have a program in place ensuring proper training which leads to success and ultimately, retention.
Happy Father's Day! There are many sacrifices made by our umpires, personal and professional, as part of their commitment to #NCAA baseball - maybe none bigger than time spent away from their families. Please know all of these sacrifices are appreciated. Happy Father's Day!
Every single time without question - I’ll take a so-so umpire who can lead and handle people over a great umpire who can’t hold a conversation or handle his business.
How do we really work on getting that high pitch this offseason.? Get a pitching machine, some masking tape, some friends and their phones and iPads. Let’s stop talking about it and make it happen. Cameras are everywhere! @UnitedUmpires@MidAtlanticUmps

“The single biggest way to impact an organization is to focus on leadership development. There is almost no limit to the potential of an organization that recruits good people, raises them up as leaders and continually develops them.”
@theNJSAB appointed @NJCAARegionXIX Coordinator of Men’s and Women’s Soccer Referees starting in 2019.
“We are grateful to be entrusted with this vital position throughout the conference’s large geographical footprint.” -Steve Leonardo, Co-Founder, @theNJSAB
So you think you’ve made it and now you are trading on your name and resting on your reputation and laurels - think again - NCAA CWS Umpire Joe Burleson explains this pitfall and what we all need to do as umpires to avoid it. https://t.co/ld6laWQUFx
