Did not know about the number of Pakistani traders in ๅกๅฟ Taxkorgan County in Xinjiang. Pakistan is apparently just 20km from the border which is 1.5hr away from the County.
Some of them also sell stones and jewellery, some of them learnt a few Chinese words to communicate with tourists. It was effing cold and itโs a hard job to walk the streets all night long to make a sell.
At the grand bazaar in Urumqi there were heavy duty SWAT police patrolling. Also saw some police vehicles that Iโve never seen before. What is this Wolf brand car ๐
In Xinjiang for the first time. Security is intense here, need to scan your bag in most places; need to have ID checked for adding petrol (?!); in hotels they ask for your trip details like where did you come from, where are you going next.
Having one of those weeks where so many little things have gone southโฆ
- left my nearly $600 eye mask in a hotel in Japan
- left my glasses on the plane.. but managed to get it back!
- took a massive tumble today and landed on my suitcase
- my washing machine went bonkers and knocked over my wooden box of cutlery and the box broke
- flat is leaking again from the rain
- saw a massive dead cockroach on my desk
Except for the first thing, everything else happened today! What more?!
Been posting on Threads about my experience in Japan, why are people there so argumentative? They are all like โno this isnโt trueโ, โitโs not like thatโ. Iโm just posting about my own experience, leave me alone.
