Dependency murders creativity. Creativity plays with the unknown. No strategies exist that can enclose the endless realm of the new. Only trust in yourself can carry you past your fears and the already known.

Claude reverse engineered my Wi-Fi router and found something f*cking scary...
My internet provider sees every site I open and can change my router settings without asking me
What else it found:
• 29 devices that ever touched my Wi-Fi, all logged by the router
• there's a remote channel my provider can use any time, with no off switch
• every site I opened looked up through my provider in plain text
• my provider's TV box app sending data while the TV was off
nearly 1 billion home devices run this same remote channel, and researchers located 2 billion+ Wi-Fi access points through Apple's location database
5 steps to close the backdoors in yours:
1. paste the prompt below into Claude Code with a photo of your router sticker
2. change the admin password from the one on the sticker
3. turn on encrypted DNS
4. turn on Private Wi-Fi Address on your phone
5. add _nomap to your Wi-Fi name
Do it today, then grab the full repo👇
Samsung, LG and other non-Android TV owners, this one's for you!! 🎉
After the recent TV privacy findings, this is a must.
No root, No bricking.
• Turn off ACR, the setting that watches your screen
• Guided steps for every model and year
• Block tracking at your router

What a researcher just found inside his Samsung TV makes me furious.
@log4j got a root shell on his 2025 Samsung and started posting what's running on it.
In his words:
"always on hot mic functionality",
"automatic content recognition",
"geo positioning",
"network mapping",
"a targeted ads service",
"user profile building".
All of it shared with "samsung + their 400 partners".
It gets worse:
- A service literally named "alwaysonvoice" in the TV's security policy.
- If the TV has no microphone, it looks for one on your soundbar or a Bluetooth device.
- Counters in its telemetry for sounds like a dog barking or a baby crying.
- A model on the TV that tracks what you do inside apps like YouTube: what you watch, which ads you skip.
He checked it on an EU model too. His full report isn't out yet, and he's careful to separate what he's confirmed from what he's still testing.
But even the parts he's shown should NOT be normal.
This is a TV. In your living room. In front of your kids, your family, your conversations. You paid for it. And you agreed to all of this on a setup screen you clicked through in ten seconds.
That's not acceptable.
And it's not just one brand. Our community has looked inside 316 smart TVs. 114 of them ship software that recognises what's on your screen. Almost all of them carry analytics most people never knew were there.
Privacy isn't about having something to hide. It's about getting to decide. What you watch, what you say on your sofa, what your kids do in front of that screen: those choices should be yours, made clearly, and easy to change.
I'm not against ads. I'm against a microphone you didn't know about, a profile you never agreed to build, and a "no" you can only find ten menus deep, on a TV you paid for.
Nine days ago my parents' TV showed a sponsored ad before they could even open Netflix. I spent an afternoon on it, switched off 25 preinstalled apps, gave them a clean home screen, and open-sourced what I did. I thought it was a small fix for one annoying TV.
It became CleanYourTV
36,000+ GitHub stars. 430+ contributors. 200+ articles in 33 countries. 316 TV models from 89 brands, each tested by someone on their own TV.
Then came the messages.
"Does it work on my Samsung?"
"What about my LG?"
"My Roku?"
Every day. And every time, the honest answer has been no.
People aren't asking about ads anymore. They're asking: is my TV listening to me, and can I stop it?
Getting your privacy back shouldn't mean risking your TV. People have asked me to help them root their Samsungs. I won't tell anyone to do that.
So I've been working on something for everyone who's had to hear "no" from me:
Samsung, LG, Roku and more, no root needed.
Sharing it tonight.

Developers, this is for you. please take your payment callbacks seriously. 🔐
Yesterday, out of curiosity, I tested an M-Pesa integration on a critical live system. To my shock, I was able to submit a crafted payload that resulted in a payment being marked as successful.
Never trust a payment callback blindly.
Best practices:
- Verify callbacks against the payment provider.
- Validate the Merchant Request ID and transaction details.
- Verify payment status independently where possible.
- Restrict callback access by IP where supported.
- Make callbacks idempotent to prevent duplicate processing.
- Never mark a payment as successful based on an unverified payload.
One weak payment integration can undermine the integrity of an entire system.
Security is not just about protecting your APIs. It's about protecting the business logic behind them. 🔒

While I reverse engineering my Wi-Fi router, Claude found f*cking scary privacy problem...
Internet provider sees every site I open and can change anything in my router without asking me
here's what else it found and 5 steps to fix yours:
what Claude found:
• my router keeps a list of 29 devices that ever touched my Wi-Fi and see when new connects
• my provider can reach into my router any time, Claude found channel hiding in my connection name, and I have no way to turn it off
• every site I opened was looked up though my provider in plain text
• my provider's app on my TV box kept sending data while TV was off
• and much more...
and it's not just me:
- about 1 billion devices have this remote channel (University of Innsbruck)
- researhers pulled 2 billion+ router locations from Apple's Wi-Fi database, accurate to meters (University of Maryland)
how to fix yours:
1. install repo below (It also helps improve Wi-Fi speed) and send Claude Code a photo of your router
2. change admin password from the one on the sticker
3. turn on encrypted DNS, your provider stops seeing your lookups
4. turn on Private Wi-Fi Address, your phone stops showing its real ID to every router
5. add _normal to your Wi-Fi name, Apple and Google stop adding it to their location maps
Do it as soon as possible. Then read article below on how to find these problems in other tech:
Let me get this straight.
A guy keeps getting weirdly targeted ads on his new Samsung TV.
So he breaks into his own TV to find out why. 1.2M people watch.
42 hours later, OpenAI deactivates his account. Reason: "Cyber Abuse."
His words: "i have never used openai to exploit or find vulnerabilities, only local reverse engineering"
Same week, people on r/claude say Claude now cuts off reverse-engineering write-ups MID-SENTENCE:
"A safety check stopped my response partway through creating the playbook"
The TV is fine.
The guy who opened it is the problem.
Someone has created a vulnerable PHP website, loaded it with a Bitcoin wallet, and challenged the Internet to hack into it and they can keep the Bitcoin. It has a running timer to show if the PHP exploitability was over-hyped. https://t.co/5Pk2aLtFR3
