If you don't hate russia then you aren't paying attention 🤬🤬🤬
But please let's all discuss russians being allowed to play football again, it's really unfair on them. 🤬⚽️
It is shocking how little coverage there is of an unfolding humanitarian catastrophe in Ukraine due to Russia's destruction of its energy grid. It's -20C outside and half of the country experienced a total blackout today. Metro trains stopped operating in Kyiv and Kharkiv today. Rolling blackouts have been ongoing for weeks, often with no heating and running water inside people's houses. People get sick and die because of this. In the meantime, Russians laugh and call for more strikes to punish Ukraine for its unwillingness to surrender. These are strikes affecting millions of civilians amid the harshest winter in decades. These are crimes against humanity that Russia is confident it will get away with. We cannot let that happen
In Kyiv’s botanical garden, tropical plants are dying from the cold. In the video, you can hear their leaves falling.
This is happening because Russia has created a humanitarian disaster in Kyiv, destroying infrastructure during extreme cold.
Kyiv is in total blackout,
as are many parts of Ukraine.
No water, no heating, no electricity.
Severe frost outside.
This is the result of constant russian attacks.
Thank you to those few who still care.
I’ve arrived back in Kyiv and the energy crisis has reached a point of humanitarian disaster. People are freezing in their homes. It’s no longer ok just to say ‘great resilience’ for coping. Ukraine needs huge support now & russia needs to be economically destroyed to stop this.
"They stayed a little back, little off the frontlines." @realDonaldTrump
457 British soldiers died in Afghanistan, thousands more came home with life changing injuries.
Where is America's respect for British soldiers? 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Emergency repair crews in Kyiv are working under extraordinarily intense conditions.
There are not enough crews, so workers are forced to work for 48-72 hours straight without breaks - many are literally collapsing from exhaustion.
Over the past few days, two workers have died from extreme overwork.
Many others have been diagnosed with frostbite and severe psycho-physical exhaustion.
They are true Heroes.

👏 Ukrainian divers save Kyiv power plant
SES divers spent six days working in icy water at –15°C to stop flooding and restore a Kyiv thermal power plant after a Russian strike. The rescuers were awarded state honors for bravery.
Zelenskyy on double standards in global justice:
"Maduro is on trial in New York. Sorry, but Putin is not on trial."
Vladimir Putin is the biggest war criminal of 21st century and must be held accountable!
🚨ZELENSKYY - we are advised not to mention Tomahawks to the Americans. Not to spoil their mood.
“No one is even talking about it, but Russian missiles and Shaheds are still here, and we still have the coordinates of the factories where they are made. Today, they target Ukraine. Tomorrow, it could be any NATO country. And here in Europe, we are advised not to mention Tomahawks. Not to mention Tomahawks to the Americans? Not to spoil their mood? And we are told not to bring up Taurus missiles. When the subject is Turkey, diplomats say, "Don't offend Greece." When it's Greece, they say, "Be careful with Turkey." In Europe, there are endless internal arguments and things left unsaid that stop Europe from uniting and speaking honestly enough to find real solutions”.
Ukraine is cutting electricity usage nationwide, two-thirds of Lviv is dark right now. We stand in solidarity with Kyiv, sharing the power so it goes around.
To the most compassionate people I've ever met: thank you.
Thank you for caring, thank you for being you.
Nearly 6 thousand buildings are without power in Kyiv. A major city in Europe where millions of people live. Imagine looking out your window in Paris or New York and seeing the entire skyline black. It would be global news & seen as a catastrophe. russia did that.
How many more empty words before someone actually acts?
Ukrainians are freezing, suffering, and dying under russian drones and missiles.
Loud statements from world leaders don’t save lives.
This is a moving post shared today on Instagram by anastasiia.lenna:
"And every day I wake up with the thought that I can’t do this anymore.
I can’t — like thousands of others just like me.
Without light.
Without heat.
Without connection.
Without water.
I can’t.
But I must.
This war doesn’t take everything at once: it kills hope slowly.
Drop by drop.
Day by day.
When it feels like just a little more and there’ll be nothing left inside.
I have to get up every morning.
I have to put on a smile, even when it weighs more than body armor.
Because the older one has to go to kindergarten, to the place where, thank God, there is still warmth and a plate of hot food.
Because the little one needs a mom. Alive. Warm. Strong, even when everything inside is shattering.
I live on autopilot.
Between sirens, cold walls, and the silence ringing in my ears.
In a city where darkness comes early and fear never leaves.
And if anything is still holding us upright,
it’s not batteries and it’s not light bulbs.
The only thing warming us is the heat of human hearts.
And the love we cling to so we don’t fall.
Because I can’t.
But I must."

I spent today with energy workers in Kyiv who keep the grid functioning despite constant missile attacks. Absolute heroes. Incredibly inspiring and also a reminder there’s absolutely no military reason to hit the supply of civilian energy unless you’re a coward nation like russia
Dear world,
I’m tired of hearing that everyone is “concerned.”
Concern doesn’t turn on electricity.
Concern doesn’t stop drones.
Concern just sounds polite while we freeze.
Electricity came back.
Not by schedule. Just unexpectedly.
I turned on the heat and felt my shoulders drop for a second.
Not happiness - relief.
I’m grateful for these several hours of warmth.
Truly.
But I’m so tired of living like this.
So tired of surviving.
