@ruima It’s more a matter of finding the right sport, and then applying a startup mindset in learning it.
For example tennis is booming here (because of Qinwen) and lessons and court time are expensive, but there are way better ways to learn.
Like hitting against a wall.
@EnergyTrendsJPN@Will_Tanner_1 Not sure where the line with Patten is; whether it’s a political line he felt he could take and make it his, or he genuinely cared.
I’m sure it’s a bit of both.
@EnergyTrendsJPN@Will_Tanner_1 Agreed on defense. Deep water ports for trade, shit for defense.
Patten did push the issue (and he still does), but neither negotiating sides really cared.
@Will_Tanner_1 2) locusts as a term is a much more recent phenomena, popularized as the mass buying of stuff like baby powder
2) @EnergyTrendsJPN’s family indeed built HK but so did many families including mine; but let’s try to pretend they were any grand acts of nobility, everybody made money
@EnergyTrendsJPN@Will_Tanner_1 HK history is nuanced and ripe for misunderstanding, as it is still where east and west collide.
Was Thatcher right to not stick to her guns? Ideologically perhaps no, but common sense prevailed, which we probably need more of in our current politicians.
