Next up for Women’s History Month is Edith Gallup. Dr. Gallup, an optometrist and charter member when AOA was created, encouraged more women to join the profession, and in 1907 was elected VP of the American Association of Opticians (now known as AOA). #WomensHistoryMonth

In addition to being Women’s History Month, March is also Workplace Eye Wellness month. Every year roughly 25,000 Americans experience workplace eye injuries. It is important to wear certified and approved eye protection when working in hazardous conditions, with chemicals, etc.
