>WAS gonna have lots of cool stuff
>Had 5 years to do all this but “ahh shucks they shut us down JUST as we were about to finally do it, we swear!”
The excessive posts about activision ruining Halo with micro transactions and such shows that no one was actually playing modern Halo this whole time after all
Halo has this unfortunate side effect where its main playerbase are a bunch of dudebros who know nothing about art, so anything artsy fartsy completely goes over their head
It’s kinda sad tho because this shit isn’t even that complicated, it’s pretty in your face and on the nose
@Rookie_425@KapitanExia@mrgruntington I'm only saying it IS doable because the original reply said it wasn't and I think that's a silly claim to make. You can explain why it's the wrong thing to do, but saying it CANNOT be done is just not true.
@Rookie_425 I think it's understandable if Activision DOES do it considering the mess of a postwar era 343 left behind for them, but I really do think a retcon would just be doubling down on one of 343's biggest flaws. That being their inability to just commit to something and make it work.
@Rookie_425@KapitanExia@mrgruntington I mean again, I'd rather not have it happen either. I'm just saying it IS very doable. Even if people wouldn't like it.
A prime example of someone who cannot defend the newer Halo games without trying to dismantle Halo's legacy and the Bungie era.
Were the 343i games truly objectively better games, then the company would be alive and well, and scores of Halo fans wouldn't have already jumped ship years ago.
It also speaks to Bungie's talent that they produced some of the biggest and most successful FPS games ever made, pioneering console FPS controls and game-feel in a way still copied by shooters today, while simultaneously pioneering console multiplayer. Bungie innovated and pushed the boundaries. They set a standard the entire industry tried to follow.
Nothing 343i has done during their tenure comes even slightly close to those achievements. Instead they followed popular trends and, from the outset, aimed to make Halo resemble other popular shooters of the time, rather than focusing on Halo's core and innovating from there.
