Quick intro: I'm a part time software engineer, part time author (science fiction), part time farmer (hobby), and part time legislator in the NH House.

I use this account to talk about NH politics (the nitty gritty of what bills have been filed, why I like or dislike them, etc). The NH House meets Jan-June, so we're out of session right now.

...so for half the year, this account mostly does deep dives on policy stuff.

I'm a big believer in
* showing data
* citing sources
* correcting course when I'm wrong

If you ever think I've got an issue wrong, tell me what I'm missing and link to data.

A link to FRED data comparing CPI to housing occupancy rates or whatever, or a link to NH statutes will get 500x more traction than saying "dumb take, boomer".

The Real Danger:
These bills may sound “pro-housing,” but taken together, they strip away local control and invite high-density, investor-driven development. Towns lose the ability to say “no” or even “not yet” — especially to wealthy out-of-state developers who don’t live here, don’t vote here, and don’t pay the price when infrastructure fails or property values drop.

The Right Question:
It’s not just “How do we build more?”
It’s: “Who’s building, what are they building, and who has to live with the consequences?”

@AnarchoDarling @TheMa78024 @IanHuyett It’s doing so because of ‘affordable’ homes/apartments. Lifelong Texans and we left for NH because of the influx of people ruining Texas. OP is mistaken if he thinks that only conservatives/Republicans move to lower cost states. ‘Affordability’ brings a certain class of people.
