Can't believe I'm typing this, but Montana has followed WV and has also intro'd the bill I wrote to close the PLCAA "negligent marketing" loophole in its legislature. The "Firearms Liability Clarification Act" will stop plaintiffs from working around the prohibition on lawsuits against gun manufacturers through creative pleading, e.g., "negligent marketing" and etc. This loophole is what put Remington out of business.
What can you do to help (other than RT)? If you are a resident of WV or MT, contact your rep and tell them to support the "Firearms Liability Clarification Act."
If you are NOT a resident of those states, reach out to your reps anyways and send a copy of the bill to them, asking them to consider sponsoring the bill themselves in your state.
Daniel Defense @DanielDefense has been sued in TX and this bill with a retroactivity clause (it currently does NOT have one as drafted) could shut those lawsuits down. Holler at me @TheAKGuy if you know anyone who should look at this. And @RoyHarbison, see below if you think this would work for LA as drafted.
This is the full text of the bill: https://t.co/PjvTivToUU
If you do NOT know what the PLCAA is, here's the Wiki article. It's an easy and interesting read: https://t.co/9yAhfgylB8
Thank you WV, thank you AG of MT, Austin Knudsen.
