@GergelyOrosz On "tell me about a challenging project". What were the success criteria, what would you do differently, what was the business need, if x changed about the scenario what would you have done. Trying to understand how well they can communicate a project and what role they played.
@rpandey1234 I actually saw this earlier while browsing Reddit. So neat to see your work all across the internet. I claim credit for one of your up votes.
@Lethain's Staff Engineer book is too good. It's turning me into the annoying coworker that keeps citing "here's a relevant chapter you should read" in almost every conversation
The article says "50 new positions" the real headline is my team is hiring 2 mobile engineers ios & android in Toronto. These are metric quality roles, great for mobile developers who want to have a very high impact. Always happy to chat about the roles https://t.co/7Qq8R5nghZ
My team works hard to make sure metrics at Pinterest can be trusted. Here is a high-level view of how we ensure the most critical metrics remain accurate. Happy to chat in more detail.

@rpandey1234 I see the 10x engineer concept being about impact long term. For example a 10x engineer identifies using technology "A" will require constant maintenance and finds an alternative. So not so much better/faster at coding, but able to make work be done in the more effective spot.
@Scott_Wiener I agree the long term problem has been and is housing, but the data excludes 2020. I suspect remote work has enabled more people to move to avoid taxes. Do you think this is the case? If so is it something we should be concerned about?
Creating a California Tax Board account is an adventure. You register online (yay) and wait for a pin in the physical mail (yikes), which you must use within 21 days to activate the account (oops). But the best part - the deep introspection security questions. Highly recommended.
@yomeeks@WestJet@yomeeks I missed my West jet flight. They refunded the cost in travel credit that will expire, so not a great experience.
I booked with @AirCanada today. It was much better, they confirmed I had the right documents and let me board without issue.
@WestJet just didn't let me board my flight to Canada. They felt that being a spouse to a Canadian citizen did not qualify as an immediate family member. The Canadian government says it does (https://t.co/DPNGg6jXgA)! @WestJet has been non stop problems, don't fly with them.
Notably, Pinterest made significant updates to its policies. For Procedural Interference, Pinterest’s policy evaluation changed from “None” to “Comprehensive,” and for Participation Interference and Fraud, it changed from “Non-Comprehensive” to “Comprehensive.”
@valera_zakharov There are a few negative things that happen to the host if they cancel last minute. I believe it leaves a review saying they cancelled last minute, they can't be super hosts and in some cases are charged a fee. So it may not be a scam. I'd still prefer to have the host cancel.
