The biggest bird migration night of 2026 is expected tonight and tomorrow night! It is estimated that 9.3 million birds will be in flight tonight across Michigan, and another 11.9 million tomorrow night! Peak migration season continues!

A big night with the Cornell Lab Birdcast estimating 377 MILLION birds are expected to migrate across the United States overnight tonight into early Wednesday morning.

The bright yellow and white colors on this map show the highest concentration of migration activity as millions of birds ride favorable winds northward during peak spring migration season.

Mild temps and light winds will help…

💡 HOW YOU CAN HELP:
• Turn off unnecessary outdoor lights tonight
• Reduce bright decorative lighting if possible
• Watch for birds around windows early tomorrow morning

Many of these travelers are heading toward breeding grounds across the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Canada.

👀 You may even hear nighttime flight calls overhead after sunset if you step outside in a quiet area!
