🚨 Wait… so companies can charge you MORE just because they know you can afford it?
Michigan lawmakers are now trying to BAN something called surveillance pricing—and after learning what it is, I’m outraged… and you should be too.
Here’s how it works:
A company collects your personal data—your browsing history, location, shopping habits, even how long you hover over a product online—and uses algorithms to determine how much you personally are willing to pay.
That means two people could shop for the exact same product…
Same store.
Same item.
Same day.
…and one gets charged more simply because the algorithm thinks they can afford it—or are desperate enough to pay.
Read that again.
They’re not just tracking you anymore.
They’re using what they know about you to squeeze more money out of your wallet.
That’s not capitalism.
That’s manipulation.
Thankfully, Michigan lawmakers have advanced bipartisan legislation that would make this practice illegal by treating it as a deceptive business practice.
Good.
Because companies should compete by offering better products and better prices—not by spying on consumers and weaponizing personal data.
If corporations are secretly charging different prices based on who you are, every Michigander should be furious.
This should alarm everyone—Republican, Democrat, Independent.
Your data should never become a weapon against your wallet.

@JustJenRX The Republicans are talking about passing legislation to end birth right citizenship in light of the recent SCOTUS ruling. They can't pass the SAVE America Act. Why would we believe them now? They are useless. The Democrats speak for themselves. I guess I didn't convince you! 😉
