“I always tell you guys to apply for funding and it always seems like you guys think it’s just motivation and it is not. NYDA funded me with R50 000 grant to buy my first business assets the next funding was Exxaro With R10 million half of it was a grant MAHALA the other half was an interest free loan I bought my first Yellow machines. Same year I got funding from Siyakhula Barloworld of R1,6 Million which is interest free to buy a TLB, and when I was buying my other front end loader Siyakhula funded me with the VAT portion which is paid upfront of about a million interest free. Recently I got approved for funding by SEDFA for 15million rand to buy business assets R2,4 Million of this is grant altered is at 5% interest.

So in total grant funding 8million+ taking into account the many non financial support through ESD programs which those companies pay for. Sasol as part of ESD paid for our mining Indaba trip, it’s currently paying for 3 of my ISO certification from scratch. Exxaro paid for my GIBS program. I was part of Raizcorp paid by Vuna group a local mine in carolina.

ABSA EMPLOYEE ARRESTED FOR THEFT AND FRAUD OF R42 MILLION

The Hawks' Serious Commercial Crime Iinvestigating have on Friday, 24 July 2026 executed a warrant of arrest that led to the arrest of a former Absa employee, Srinivasa Sitapavani Srikanth Mulakaluri (42) and his accomplice, Danielle Matthews (44) as well as her company called, Athenea Solutions, facing charges of fraud, theft, contravention of Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities (PRECCA) Act 12 of 2004 and Contravention of Prevention of Organised Crime (POCA) Act 121 of 1998.

The arrest is as a result of an internal investigation conducted by Forensic Investigators at Absa where they discovered an irregular relationship between the entity Athenea Solutions which is an approved ABSA vendor, its sole director Danielle Matthews and a former Head of Africa region workforce management at Absa Srinivasa Sitapavani Srikanth Mulakaluri.

Athenea Solutions was contracted to conduct a wide range of services on behalf of Absa. The internal investigation revealed that nine Form of Orders (FOO) to the value of over R42 million excluding Value Added Tax was issued to Athenea Solutions by Absa. According to investigations the Form of Orders were paid during 2024 for services that were to be rendered in 2025 however they were never rendered.

During further investigations it was also discovered that electronic signatures were forged purporting to be those of the managing director The suspects made their first appearance before the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Monday, 27 July 2026 where Danielle Matthews was granted R10 000 and Srinivasa Sitapavani Srikanth Mulakaluri was granted bail of R150 000, the matter is postponed to 15 October 2026

We also inspected a spaza shop where we discovered a mortuary operating directly behind it. These two businesses cannot legally operate on the same premises.

Because the mortuary continued operating despite a previous prohibition order, we have served them with a notice and shut them down yet again. We have also served the spaza shop with a prohibition order where they sell food on the site, and the shop has been shut down as well.
