@unclebobmartin@mmtftt@MonkeyTakes@grok Maybe. Your world looks mental to us over here ๐คท so it's perplexing for us being called out. I'm sure it's not a representation of life for the average American though, I've learnt that from travelling different places that the media bubble doesn't reflect the population.
@unclebobmartin@mmtftt@MonkeyTakes@grok It still is. In many ways it was worse in the past. Not perfect now by any means, we have modern world problems like everywhere else, there's just a huge disconnect between what is reported on here and the actual reality.
@unclebobmartin@mmtftt@MonkeyTakes@grok I'd just like to say, as somebody who lives in the North of England, when I step out of the house, it resembles nothing like the post-apocalyptic scenes commonly described on here. It's really quite confusing, since it's actually one of the friendliest places in the world.
@krassenstein Motor vehicles are the single biggest killer of young children in developed nations. You cannot legally drive a cybertruck in the Europe because they increase that exact danger. There are many reasons to buy a cybertruck but child safety is demonstrably not one of them.
@brownecfm I'm not convinced that GPs are aware of this. Everyone I know that has gone to see the doctor with flu symptoms have come back with antibiotics.
@RoryStewartUK I don't believe Musk is making a casual observation here. This is an important distinction to make when it comes to interpreting his posts. He's a disruptor and this is his disruption. He's purposefully attempting to shape reality. The actual reality is irrelevant to him.
@GoreTiger64th@BrokenSerenity@BladeoftheS It hasn't been NCAP tested for pedestrian safety which is a requirement in Europe. It would fail on the sharp edges alone.
@RestIsPolitics@campbellclaret@RoryStewartUK Sunak is currently pushing the War on Motorists line. What are your thoughts on this, given all evidence suggests that promoting active travel and reducing vehical use improves health, environment, economy, lifestyles, and community. P.s. Please get @Chris_Boardman on Leading.
@RishiSunak Is this parody? You've made it that the ONLY option people have is to drive by removing all other options, and you want to increase car dependency (and financial stress) by moving further in that direction, all while increasing congestion, making it a miserable experience for all
@RestIsPolitics@RoryStewartUK@campbellclaret Interested in your thoughts on active travel, it's role in mitigating climate change, improving public health, strengthening communities, providing independence for children and disabled, etc. In fact I think @Chris_Boardman would be a great candidate for your Leading podcast.
@DavidGHFrost The point is that we should not be dependent on one form of transport. Many people cannot drive (which includes everybody under the age of 17). They should not be dependent on others, the choice of multiple forms of transport equates to increased freedom and a healthier society.
