@simplymorgn Yes.
Exactly this.
The best boss I ever had was the last person into work, took his dog for a walk for an hour at lunchtime & was the first person to leave.
No attempts to look busy or justify his job. Kept his time free so if we had a problem he had it solved by the morning.
@jmbprime Yes, they need to up their game.
A good start would be for both the Dems in the Senate and Congress to appoint their own official Press Secretaries to anchor regular press conferences & help coordinate coherent & unified messaging.
@FennellJW The T26 where we've transferred the built slot to Norway?
Not ideal, but I'd probably take 3 extra T31s over one of the planned T26s at the moment.
A fleet size of only 5 of them is a just recipe for more problems in the future.
@DaveTae3@thejohnbergen@iSlimfit You obviously haven't driven that road.
I've spent at least six weeks there every year for the last decade, so I know it well. The road markings on the approach are exceptionally clear.
The HGV was doing everything right. The camper was doing everything wrong.
@fawfulfan Step 1
Put comprehensive immigration reform bill before Senate
Step 2
Bill fails to get 60 votes
Step 3
Give amnesty to every illegal immigrant in US in 30 days time
Step 4
Repeat Step 1
@AdedayoFashegs@iSlimfit Yes, it's definitely that one.
The local Screwfix store is just over a mile up the road so that HGV driver will probably have been travelling that road multiple times every week.
@PeterTCross@CharlieM2024 No, the exact opposite - imo the question they should have been asking is who's able to actually get the Parliamentary Labour party to vote for the sort of benefit cuts Starmer failed to pass last June in the biggest (in monetary terms) of his multiple humiliating U-turns...
@thejohnbergen@iSlimfit IMO it's not poorly marked at all.
However, there is a valid point about the biggest danger on Highland roads being the tourists both due to blatant incompetence combined with lack of any local knowledge.
@iSlimfit Hundreds of pointless comments here.
It's super easy to locate this roundabout on Google Streetview & the lane markings on the approach are very clear. It's also completely logical given the traffic patterns here.
The HGV was completely correct.
@iSlimfit@AdedayoFashegs No.
The HGV is absolutely correct.
I know the roundabout - see the attached photo from Google Streetview which clearly shows that the left lane is only for turning left.
@Jacquie223676 In many ways the behaviour of some Labour MPs has been the exact opposite of this.
If they actually cared about keeping their jobs, in May/June 2025, 100+ of them wouldn't have torpedoed Starmer's plans to cut the ballooning benefits bill...
@DefenceGeek Interestingly, I think the engineering risk in general is probably pretty low - biggest issue will obviously be getting funding to close.
Apart from potential issues with crosswind landings, there's likely to be no major issues with building a very large low density airframe.
@enchanter_tim Yes, absolutely.
Larger fleets are always better in every way in the long term.
If the search function here wasn't so dreadful, I'd be able to link to one of my replies from several years ago arguing for exactly this!
@dilanesper Should this deference also apply where SCOTUS is either clearly in error, lazy, inconsistent or illogical?
How much deference should inferior judges give when SCOTUS issues confusing & perfunctory rulings on the shadow docket without full briefing on the issues?
@100glitterstars I got told my post on here suggesting that Starmer could be back as PM within 18 months was utterly ridiculous but commentary like this suggests it's not impossible.
All it takes is Burnham cocking it up enough that 81 decide that Starmer was actually OK...
@Bnicklincs He also wasn't prepared for a depressing large number of his inexperienced & naive backbench MPs randomly acting completely unreasonably whenever faced with remotely hard decisions or political compromises...
@peterrhague Unfortunately, many politicians seem very plausible until they actually start talking about policy in detail - at that point you regrettably conclude they are a bit of an idiot with no interest in evidence based policy π
That's already happened multiple times with Burnham...
