@domineeringDom @SeanTrende We also did a cake recently from a local bakery (customized-picture, 3 layer, etc) and still thought it’s nuts, but was $65. No way $200 on two cakes. You do one smash cake and a sheet cake from Costco = half that. All of these minus park rental is 2x what it needs to be (choice)

If I was still 22 making $52K out of college, it would seem impossible to do some of the spontaneous things I did back then. But there's also the self-inflicted exacerbation factor of people wanting to live like they make 6 figures

@domineeringDom @JohnWonderlin @feelsdesperate To wrap it up, I think if I was 26 and single, I could still easily go to a white sox game (upper deck tix, 3 beers, and some food) for under $80. Cubs, I think $140 - 150. I wouldn't even spend $250 at a cubs game today unless I was getting 100/200 lvl tickets.

@domineeringDom @JohnWonderlin @feelsdesperate Starting salaries for those with a business degree in the early 2010s was closer to low 50K. When I was making $52K, I was grabbing black coffees, beers, upper deck mlb tickets, etc. I wasn't going out for 'drinks & apps' at a 4 star sitdown weekly, or even monthly.
