1. “Russians are victims of their government.”
No, most Russians support the war and do nothing to stop it. They are not innocent victims.

2. “The war is just about the government, not the people.”
Russians are directly responsible. The majority support the war, and 1/3 of them actively participate in it (military sectors)

3. “Russia is misunderstood.”
It’s not a misunderstanding, it’s a long history of aggression and imperialism. They know exactly what they’re doing.

4. “Russians are scared and can’t speak out.”
Russians are not afraid. Example Prigozhyn went on Moscow and people supported it without fear. They choose not to speak out because they support the war.

5. “Russia isn’t really responsible for the war in Ukraine.”
Russia is the aggressor. It’s not a “conflict”; it’s an invasion and genocide.

6. “Ukraine should just make peace with Russia.”
We have been subjected to centuries of violence, colonization, and oppression. Peace cannot come at the cost of our sovereignty.

7. “Russian people are just like us, they just want peace.”
Russians aren’t like us, absolute majority of them are imperialists that want to enslave the world.

8. “Ukraine should be grateful for Russian culture and history.”
We’re not grateful for a history of oppression, forced assimilation, stolen history and culture, and countless atrocities committed by Russia against our people. Our culture has more than 1,000 years of unique history and culture. Russia has nothing of its own, everything it claims is stolen from colonized countries, including Ukraine.

9. “Russia is just another country with its own issues.”
No, Russia is a direct threat to Ukraine’s existence and to the stability of Europe. It’s a regime that continues to commit atrocities and genocide worldwide.

10.“The West should treat Russia as an equal partner.”
Russia has shown repeatedly that it does not respect international law or human rights. It should be treated as terrorist state.

11.“Ukraine has always been part of Russia, so it’s natural for them to control us.”
Ukraine has its own distinct identity, history, and culture, separate from Russia. We’ve fought for centuries for our independence.

12. “The war in Ukraine is just a territorial dispute.”
This is not about territory, it’s about Ukraine’s right to exist as a sovereign nation, free from Russian control and genocide.

13. “If Ukraine just gave up some land, the war would end.”
This ignores the fact that Russia’s goal is not just land - it’s to erase Ukraine’s independence and culture. Giving up land won’t stop the aggression.

14. “Ukraine isn’t really as important as Russia in the global context.”
Ukraine is fighting for the values of democracy, freedom, and human rights. Its struggle affects the entire world, not just the region. Most of the significant developments in the USSR, especially in the military sector, were made by Ukrainians. Ukrainian scientists, engineers, and developers were behind many groundbreaking innovations, including rocket technology and the development of the first satellites. Ukraine’s vast resources, including fertile land and energy reserves, have been crucial to the global economy. Ukraine’s importance goes far beyond Russia’s imperial ambitions; it is a vital player in global history and progress.

15. The war in Ukraine is just the result of NATO expansion.”
NATO’s expansion occurred because countries sought to join in response to Russia’s aggression, not the other way around. Nations chose to align with NATO to protect themselves from Russian imperialism. The war is rooted in Russia’s desire for control and dominance.

16. “Ukraine is too small and weak to resist Russia.”
Ukraine is a nation with a proud history of resilience. Despite facing overwhelming odds, we continue to fight for our sovereignty and freedom.
