We did not drift from God in ignorance alone. We were opposed to Him. “The mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God” (Romans 8:7). Even our good deeds could not bridge that, because the heart itself was wrong.

And yet, His love did not arise from anything in us. It was not drawn out by our worth, but given in spite of our condition. “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

We had no cause to hate Him, yet we did. He had no cause in us to love us, yet He chose to. “Not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son” (1 John 4:10).

That is the weight of grace. Not a response to our goodness, but an act of His mercy.

He loved where there was nothing to love. And that is why it saves.

@Biblicalman Judas ate with Jesus, he was jesus's disciple, God cannot be betrayed and killed. Jesus is God's Messiah not God.

@MasterMaliq All the encounters men had with "God" in the old testament was with angels. Angels are God's agents. So no one has seen God at anytime and no one can see God and live, Jesus is not God but the son of God a man chosen, resurrected and exalted by God, so no contradiction.

@MasterMaliq Paul is not equal with Jesus. He clearly was a servant, a messenger or you can say an apostle, sometimes he refered to himself as a slave of the Lord so we don't equate both of them. Paul like other apostles was sent by the risen Lord and he never contradicted Jesus.

@Row_Haastrup No verse of scripture states that one must believe that "Jesus is God" to be saved, rather one must believe that Jesus is the son of God to be saved, a Muslim must believe that God raised Jesus from the dead to be saved. Yes he is greater than the prophets but he is not God.
