We’ve tried our best to refrain from directly criticising Indigenous people on the NO side of the upcoming #VoiceReferendum, because the people most directly impacted by these decisions are entitled to their views and those views must be respected even if not agreed with.

For those reasons we deplore the now routine gendered and racist abuse we see directed towards some of those people, which is the height of hypocrisy from those on the YES side.

But with that said, a person who apparently doesn’t even see or recognise the weight of documented evidence of generations of cruel harm done to First Nations people here isn’t fit to be in a position of decision-making power over any other person.

It’s all just bullshit talk now.

There are no “principles” involved in denying generational trauma, it’s just bullshit.

There’s no longer even a pretence at truth.

And the so-called “debate” is now an indictment on both those who make such ridiculous claims and those who agree with them and/or highlights their views without also presenting basic facts.
