When we put forth effort on a difficult task, we internalize that we have a strong work ethic.
We obtain evidence that we can push harder.
Lasting self-esteem doesn’t come from being told that we are great.
It comes from doing the actual work.
The best athletes care more about effort than winning. This isn’t because they don’t care about winning. It’s because they know that giving their best effort leads to the best results.
Does anyone else wear their shitty running clothes to “save” their “nice” running clothes so often they never actually wear the nice stuff? Just me? Cool.
It's consistent to great. Not insane heroic efforts to great.
Stay in the game long enough and good things happen. Consistency takes patience, acceptance, and stacking good solid work week after week.
Consistency is easy to talk about. Much harder to do.
