#Velia races on her new home track at Tamworth this afternoon (R8). She has been disappointing in her last couple of starts and needs to turn her form around sharply. She’s drawn wide and will likely settle towards the back of the field, but if she can finish off strongly, we’ll be satisfied to continue on with her.

Two runners heading to Hamilton today 👇

#Umgawa kicks us off (R5), chasing some great prize-money in a heat for the big final at Flemington on Oaks Day. He loomed to run well last start before pulling up with a genuine excuse, and if he can overcome a tricky draw, his work at home suggests he should be right in the finish.

#VailMountain lines up in the very next race (R6) after being late scratched by the vets at the start of last month. He’s good to go today, and while the 1100m will be short of his best, he draws well and has been going great at home. Provided he hits the line strongly, we’ll be happy as we look ahead to the rest of his preparation.

Two runners today 👇

#ArtieLady heads to Ballina (R4) looking to build on the improvement we saw from her last start. Her first two runs this preparation were well below expectations, but she bounced back strongly last time when stepping up in trip. She draws well again today and, provided she can stay in touch early, she should be competitive.

#Luscombe heads to Bendigo (R4) for her first run with new trainer Logan McGill and her new ownership group. Her draw has improved with scratchings and, provided she handles the heavy track, we expect her to run well, with improvement to come.

#JustFolk heads to a very wet Flemington (R10) today. Hopefully the meeting goes ahead, as he gets conditions he absolutely loves and heads into the race in excellent form. He has had a decent gap between runs and he drops back in distance, but provided he gets to race today, we expect him to run another very competitive race.

It’s also the exact race where our journey with him began 3 years ago.

He was well beaten on a very testing track at Sandown just over a month ago, but we’re expecting a much-improved performance today. It will be his first look at a synthetic track, but his tick-over jumpout was excellent and, from a good draw, he looks capable of running much better than his enormous odds suggest.
