This gist is crazy
A guy recently proposed to his girlfriend after dating her for 7 years, meanwhile, he had been dating another girl on the side for 1 year and even gave her a ring too.
When the first girlfriend found out, he told her it was just TikTok content.
Only for both girls to link up and go to his house with their family and friends, but he refused to open the door.
The second girlfriend has been crying profusely, while the first girlfriend is trying to comfort her
He didn't win it. He took it.
And no one else has ever taken it like that. Not even close.
2016 was not voted. It was declared.
Messi has 8 Ballon d'Ors. But show me ONE where he won a Champions League AND an international trophy in the same season AND finished as the top goals plus assists for his team and the tournament.
You cannot. Because it never happened.
2011? No international trophy.
2015? No international trophy.
2019? No Champions League, no international trophy.
2021? No Champions League, finished 5th in La Liga.
2023? No Champions League, playing in a farmers league in America.
Most of his awards were from the illusion. The illusion that he looked better than everyone, so they gave it to him. Dribbling in midfield. No trophies that matter.
2016 was different. 2016 was real football.
Champions League winner. Top scorer of the Champions League.
Euro winner. Top assister of the Euros. Top G/A for Portugal. Top G/A for Real Madrid.
He carried two teams on his back to two titles in one summer. Wolfsburg hat trick. Winning penalty in the final. Hungary to save his country. Wales to send them to the final. Crying on a stretcher and still coaching from the touchline.
That is not illusion. That is pure greatness.
So when France Football counted:
Number 1: Cristiano Ronaldo 745 points
Number 2: Lionel Messi 316 points
A margin of 429 points. The biggest ever in football history.
It was not a victory. It was a coronation. It was football correcting itself and saying:
No debate. This year, this sport, belongs to one man.
2008 was talent. But 2016? 2016 proved that talent can be gifted, but greatness is taken. And no Messi Ballon d'Or season will ever come close to it.
Rooney: Pass if you've got the ball in the middle.
Ferdinand: PASS, PASS! Ronaldo, it's impossible from there!
Ronaldo: Alright... watch this
Result: birth of the Puskás Award 😭🐐
We call him Mr Reliable for a reason 😇
I still have the clip of Carlos Cuesta giving him props that his best ability is that he can adapt to any situation 😇😇😇
Ben White has made himself reliable to the point where Arteta is comfortable starting him ahead of Timber to preserve the latter's fitness.
This was not always the case in Arteta's tenure.
Huge credit is due to Mr. White for becoming a reliable option for Arsenal once again. 👏
If Arsenal manage to score even one goal against Lille, I will never post about Arsenal again. I will focus entirely on Manchester United’s demise.
I am 100% confident Arsenal will lose by three goals, just like they did against Brighton a few weeks ago.
An attack featuring Saka and Madueke will never win you trophies like the Champions League, especially when they were lucky to win the Premier League last season.
This is not arrogance. This is a fact so let check.
What does COMPLETE mean?
Complete does not mean most talented. Complete does not mean best dribbler. Complete means you can do EVERYTHING in football at an elite level. And only one player in history can.
Let's break it down:
Left foot? 150+ goals with his left. Messi can't say that about his right.
Right foot? 550+ goals. His main weapon.
Head? 150+ headed goals. The greatest header of the ball ever. Jumps 2.93m, hang time, power. Messi has 30 headed goals in his entire career. That's not complete.
Free kicks? 64 free kick goals. Long range curl, knuckleball.
Penalties? Clutch. Champions League finals, Euros.
Weak foot, strong foot, head, free kicks, long shots, tap-ins, overhead kicks. Cristiano has scored every type of goal. Bicycle kick vs Juventus, header vs Sampdoria, knuckleball vs Portsmouth, solo run vs Getafe.
Name me one type of goal Messi cannot score with his head? He can't. Name me one way Cristiano can't score? You can't.
Complete means complete everywhere.
Top scorer in England - where pace and power matter.
Top scorer in Spain - where technique matters.
Top scorer in Italy - where tactics and defence matter.
Top scorer in Champions League - 7 times.
Top scorer for his country - all-time international top scorer with 130+ goals.
He won league titles in 3 countries, Champions League with 2 clubs, Euros with Portugal, a team that never won anything before him.
What is incomplete about that?
Messi is complete in one system Barcelona, tiki-taka, short passes, 4-3-3, on the ground. Take him out of that system and put him in Stoke on a rainy night or against prime Serie A defenders, he disappears. We saw it at PSG - 32 goals in 75 games.
Cristiano is complete in ANY system. Counter-attack at United, possession at Real, defensive at Juventus, crossing at Portugal. He adapts, he scores.
He earned the right.
950+ career goals. 5 Ballon d'Ors. 5 Champions Leagues. Played 20+ years at the highest level. Never protected by a club. Built himself from Madeira streets to Manchester to Madrid to Turin to Saudi. No academy built for him, no Xavi and Iniesta feeding him for 15 years.
So when he looks in the camera and says "I am the most complete player ever" - he is not asking for your opinion. He is telling you what real ball knowers already knew since 2014.
You don't have to believe him.
You just have to know football.
