The Nabokovian just published my article in which I try to answer one of the most contentious questions in Nabokov studies: where did the name "Lolita" come from? my guess: a movie by the eyepatch-wearing director who was once mistaken for Moshe Dayan.

@BrankoMilan@MattBruenig@Econ_Marshall we also discuss Branko's original well-made point that wealthier people benefit from higher price of education bc it limits the competition to the segment of society able to pay in one of our infrequent podcast episodes: https://t.co/jtIlYO9uzx
@BrankoMilan@MattBruenig@Econ_Marshall and I have talked about both aspects of this quandary. I think our review of Daniel Markovits (https://t.co/zqbnE8fQNa) is an interesting intervention on the "toll booth" analogy. we suggest it's ritualized class reproduction, not skill based training
inauguration day special: @Econ_Marshall, @the_moma, and I got together to chat about the election some time ago. enjoy. or not. https://t.co/valN6sLW42

@HegemonySnicket (I realize your post aligns with this, I just wanted to point out that there's a very specific historical reason this makes perfect sense as a coherent position for a Muslim political organizer to take in both 2000 and 2004)
@HegemonySnicket Bush campaigned on ending the use of "secret evidence" in actions against Muslims. one of the reasons, I believe, he was in Florida on 9/11 was to talk to a group down there about this. obviously then 9/11 happened. going from pro to anti Bush from 2000 to '04 is very coherent
