@TheBrilliantBu1 For the home, it’s the mortgage doing the heavy lifting since you’ve borrowing money that is repaid with dollars worth far less over 30 years
In an inflation-driven debt-based monetary system, you have very few defenses against a currency that’s designed to lose value over time.
Some good options for the lay man:
-Own productive assets
-Long duration low fixed-rate debt (like a mortgage)
-Build a business
Another reminder that great companies can be terrible investments.
IPOs in today’s markets are more akin to exit liquidity than buying opportunities.
Remember the words of Warren Buffet:
“Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.”
