The danger of AI isn’t that it replaces work. It’s that it makes it so easy to add work (new tools, side projects, automations, features, habits) that it starts feeling like progress.
A lot of it is just shiny object syndrome. The people who pull ahead are usually the ones who get better at saying no, removing things, and making the remaining important things faster, simpler, and more valuable.
Anyone can vibe-code an app now.
So two apps launch the same week. Same features, same AI under the hood.
One says: "AI-powered workout tracking."
The other says: "Stop guessing your weights."
Only one of them converts.
When everyone builds with the same tools, the product stops being the edge. Knowing your customer's pain is.
@danieljdevries This is the part most brands skip the lead up is the sale. Curious what % of their revenue they attribute to early access vs the official window.
@BIBEKPANGENI7 Painfully accurate. I’ve seen “30% OFF and a prayer” more times than I want to admit. The Nov–Dec calendar is the real work. VIP early access works wonder for us each year.
Quick break before the rest of Q4.
I don’t trust people without hobbies or ways to clear their minds. Sailing, MMA, my horses, and sauna are my ways to clear mine. What are yours?
A lot of founders are still thinking about Black Friday as “turn on a discount next week.”
The better model (stolen from high performing brands)....
- 10 to 14 days of paid lead ads for early access
- Password protected VIP day for that list only
- Then open the sale to everyone with real scarcity
We’ve seen this structure do 50–250k in a few days for our brands.
It works because the people who buy first already feel special. The list does the heavy lifting and not the last minute ads. Worth testing if you have a strong offer in place and margins can handle paid lead gen.
@Greg_GL_87 Fair point organic waitlists do take time.
With paid lead ads + a clear early access offer though, we’ve seen solid VIP lists built in 10 to 14 days for launch events (especially when you already have some warm traffic or a strong hook).
are you mostly thinking organic here?
Even though Black Friday is a month away, I still don't see any app or SaaS founders on X talking about Black Week strategy. IMO, if you're not starting next week to warm up your Black Friday funnel, early access waitlists, etc., you're missing out. My learnings from Black Weeks across services, software, and products over the last 10 years… the earlier we start preparing and warming up the funnel and clients, building lists, etc., the more money we make!
Hit me up if you need some advice.
@ErnestoSOFTWARE A deep understanding of marketing and ads especially at today’s pace and an even better grasp of ICP is why I still think we’re far from apps and software being dead.
@alexandr_wang@alexandr_wang shows what the future of schools looks like.
next, can you offer a combined subscription for Muse, Muse Code, and Meta One that’s actually worth it?
Muse Wonder Full is an awesome model and pleasant to talk to and work with, but the $50 Muse Code sub isn't worth it vs the $30 @X sub. One subscription for everything is better @elonmusk got this early. Why does @meta still charge separately for @Muse, Muse Code, and Meta One? I'd rather pay $100 for X's value: Grok, Grok Bot, and the rest. Why can’t make a company with that opportunities a good offer to their customers?
@jullerino Same here! Also, I was a bit annoyed by the usage, tbh. so inside T3 for my day to day power work and when I'm on the road I'm using Grok Bot just for checking in
