@Corgyote tester (you can get one for less than 30 bucks at home depot) check the voltage between the two prongs of the plug, should read ~120v (little more or less isn't going to hurt anything)

@Corgyote don't use that plug please! it sounds like it might be wired illegally to be a 240 receptacle instead of a normal 120v. if thats the case then if you plug something into it you run the risk of being electrocuted! Definitely have an electrician check it out or invest in a voltage-
