@chambleebrandel There are a number of issues with that article. Others have conducted studies and found the opposite.

Our rule: if you aren’t going to hit it within 3’ nearly every time, leave it in. So if you have a ten-footer, it can only hurt you. But on a 40-footer, leave it in.

I just talked to J.J. West, the general manager at MPCC, and he says the damage is repairable and the 14th hole of the Dunes will be closed “for just a little while.” But to understand the waves that hit Pebble this morning, the top of the Lone Cypress is 150’ above sea level!

Look at how close Rory’s left arm appears to be to his chest here… and then look at the shadow.

2D is great, but 3D (like on @GearsSports) is so, so much better. We can’t move the sun around, but we can move the GEARS camera around and measure in 3D.
