This is Akalabeth: World of Doom (1979). Richard Garriott (Lord British himself) coded this as a teenager. Just you, a simplistic mini-map, some pixels, and the constant threat of starving to death in a dungeon.

It’s basically "Ultima 0" and the grandfather of every RPG we love today.

@teethrichards Aren't they completely different products in term of risk exposure for the end user. Independent of the risk, JLP is so much more dependend on the performance of the underlying basket (e.g. 50% in SOL), whereas HLP is not. I think both are great and HLP logic already improved.
