Prakticky to nejde.
@figma another UI3 feedback (perhaps someone already mentioned it): I need to be able to move Resources panel! It's now bigger and takes +- sixth of my screen, so I can't freely drop things easily to FullHD screens:(
or @rogie? 🥹
@rogie I have hard times selecting just the anchors I need 🥹👉👈 something like lasso or anchor selection mode would be nice (I somewhat always move the shapes when I'm trying to deep-select anchors)
My assumption: a whole component set gets "cached" only once, but then only the actual instances' layers add up in memory. Meaning that whenever the component gets repeated a lot, having more, but lighter variants may be a better idea than have hidden layers in each instance.
Does anyone have experience with some implications I may be missing? :) I generally don't like to use bool props for everything as I feel like they often allow unintended configurations. But here I feel the memory implication may be huge, too :)
@gleb_sexy@zoink Hmmm, that's an interesting take, at first I had concerns since that still means a lot of manual selection, but thinking about it, it may not be bad and actually quite neat :) will try, thanks!
Now, memory test — on separate pages to be able to see their memory usage, I made 15x15 tables out of these two components. While the table made of Cell 1 takes 0,1% of the file's memory at 486 layers, table made of Cell 2 takes 0,2% at whopping 1378 layers.
Did following test — made these two simple "table cell" components. One has 6 variants (no icon-left-right icon + say it's default-hover state). The other is just one component with bool props for the icons.
Background: we aim to improve the performance of our tables and one of the hypotheses that I had was that the old one (table cell components) contained too many variants. But!
🧵Did a simple Figma memory test and I feel @figma's advice to use bool props instead of more variants here https://t.co/eXsvQFX0O3 may be sometimes misleading — @figma I'll appreciate your or some dev's take on what implications I may be missing :) but:
Ta naše jediná kalkulačka je tady. Já bych tímto ráda udělila kudosy @krystof_k, bez kterýho by nejenže nebyla žádná kalkulačka technicky, ale díky komu vůbec jede teď i nějaká online prezence 😅👏
