@rorysutherland Have an idea myself: doing a rewrite of The Stranger by Camus where instead of funerals and beach murders it's office politics and job interviews that meet his immovable indifference
@MerrynSW I see supermarkets full no matter what day or time, can't get a ticket to anything, pubs rammed on a Sunday. It doesn't sit right, it's either all built on a pile debt sand or we should all just give up trying to understand anything.
@TJiMTS One could of invested the deposit capital and benefited from compounding over 30 years. How'd you realise those gains in a house? Sell, be homeless, or buy a place that's also appreciated the same amount or pass it to children. Either way, you aren't winning.
@ChrisBarnes3D@Scot_Gaijin Its a baffling thing, people can't seem to understand that they need a place to live if they 'cash in' their gains. So they've robbed Peter to pay Paul. People just don't get it.
@Scot_Gaijin@ChrisBarnes3D And what about the property you bought next? The one which had appreciated the same amount you gained on your last one? That you just paid for.
@rcolvile Supply of housing does not account for supply of financing.
You can build 5m more homes, if the financing is pushed through the system you will still have higher house prices.
