@pythagoreanmetr@chamath Quick edit: the $1,000 was given to you, not the 5k annually.
Still, 4.24 million by 55, even after historical inflation of 2-3%, and you still have a ton
@pythagoreanmetr@chamath Even if it compounds at 8% per year (which is the low end historically for the S&P 500) you’re still ending up with $4.24 million, and that’s all money that was given to you. Even after inflation, that’s still a ton.
@_Credible_Hulk I’m an American, but you can use slow motion VAR to determine facts, like did the player lead with studs up, and it looked like he did.
With that fact established, that’s a pretty clear cut red card. Not necessarily malice behind the tackle, but reckless enough nonetheless
But is it that they’re catholic and therefore playing follow the leader, or is it that they’re just elites in general who all run in the same Harvard-type circles?
Seems like the problem is the “educated/expert class” background in general.
Anyone with that background could be suspect.
That being said, I’m totally open to hearing how it’s a unique problem with the Catholic educated-class.
I’m not a Catholic but intelligencia Catholicism didn’t seem to be the problem to me. Seems to me the problem is a lot simpler: they have textualist views on the 14th amendment, and an old school boomer mindset that anyone can be American because “America is an idea”.
That being said, I don’t really know what Intelligencia Catholicism is
@RetroGamerDad17@MisterBamboozle You saw, just like everyone else, Trusty’s ankle landed horribly when he tried that cross.
I get biases, but us humans really go to insane lengths to pretend we don’t see certain things that we don’t want to see
@the_bonnfire Meaningless game shouldn’t be an excuse, and while the left is his weak side, he was getting out paced by the defense and was incapable of staying onside when trying to get behind them
@joecarlsonshow I’m not saying Netflix is guilty of this, but I think there’s a difference between people coming back because the product is quality, vs people coming back because the product is addictive.
@joecarlsonshow@1ReachGreatness As a DUOL shareholder, I used the Pimsleur app to learn German. If anyone’s interested in learning a language I’d 100% check it out!
@QualityInvest5 Exceptional might be subjective, but coming from someone who regularly goes to the gym, you’re in pretty exceptional shape. Keep going brother!
If any of the below is wrong blame the quick Gemini search I did, don’t hate me! 🤗
Now META has the creators of moltbook, Ben Parr and Matt Schlicht, as part of the company. Ben and Matt have a lot of experience in AI infrastructure and e-commerce, and META sees AI agents playing a big role in the future of shopping
@BallinwitAC@RealPData@JDVance@SecRubio Yeah 2028 will be absolutely critical for setting up the 2030s.
In the end of the day, the Trump admin knows that. JD Vance and Rubio know that.
A lot can, and will change over several months.
Just enjoy the ride, it’ll be a wild one.
Likely Sep-Nov. Again, if these current moves don’t pay off, we can’t really complain if Trump loses the house/senate.
Should be worth mentioning so many of the jobs lost over the last year (and created under Biden) were jobs for government workers. That being said, obviously we need a big turnaround in jobs
