A no-nonsense, enchanting and credentialed wine perspective dedicated to serving the wine curious & the flavor-obsessed. #NotAnInfluencer#NeverAnAmbassador
Confession: I haven’t written about wine lately, taking academic interests elsewhere.
But that doesn’t mean that I’ve abstained from it.
🍷 cheers, dears
Not my proudest moment in wine; in fact the most embarrassing. This old “blend” cleverly {unsuccessfully} hides its flaws by tossing everything!!! anything!!!! in it. Desperate; reeks pathetic.
More authentic wine is out there; less “concepty” and doesn’t try, or fail, so hard.
Home sweet wine.
Paired with 4oz grass fed rib eye & a sweet potato.

A fantastic everyday red, reminiscent of my home town but with more savory, less alcohol. The obnoxious tell on this Cabernet Franc heavy cuvée: tart red fruit, herbaceousness, and graphite earthiness is all over this wine.
“California grown, Colorado crafted” surprisingly wonderful wines by the Vines of Vail winery. A modest mountain winery specializing in handcrafted, small lot wines from grapes sourced in none other than - California. 🍇 #NewFinds#WineAroundTheWorld#VailJazzFest
American wines are made in all 50 states. I’ve been to 39, tasting local wines everywhere I go.
Now and then, I’m lucky enough to find myself surprised by wines of great texture, body, finish, and balance.
🍷 Tasting at Coeur d’Alene? Highly recommend.
Way to go, Idaho!
Have wine, will travel. Paid special attention as we kicked off this season of summer travel to the most important factor in every trip: what wine am I taking?
Literally selected this Alkoomi Shiraz for its RV friendly #ScrewTop

Summertime madness.
Take a peek under my Yeti and you find this 2021 Sauvie-B chilled to 45-50 degrees and emitting expressive, zesty, tropical aromatics of pineapple, guava and grapefruit.
Day sipping French Sauvie-B from the Loire in the middle of a perfect spring day - highly recommend.
By Thierry Delaunay, this value wine is fresh, expressive, refreshing. TYDY derives it’s delicacy from maturation in stainless & growth in stony free soils. We like stony free.
So exciting! We just heard from the TTB and have received federal approval of the 14th and final grape in the @Beaucastel Chateuneuf-du-Pape collection: #Muscardin. Final listing still to come, but please welcome Muscardin as the 348th approved grape for use in American wine!
2019 Arcturos by #BlackStarFarms
The Vino Volo in Detroit Metro Airport might have been my only chance to try this lovely wine btg.
With just 12.5% ABV, it’s no surprise this cool climate varietal shows as delicate, structured, unobstructed, inviting. Never stop learning.
