What I think makes most people uneasy is what the government could do with the data, not the cameras themselves. If people had problems with cameras, they'd never go to Vegas. You can't pick your nose in that place without a dozen people noticing.

I want a law requiring the government to obtain a warrant before receiving second-party surveillance of an unrelated third party in a public right-of-way.

But private surveillance is here with or without Flock. My building is ringed by 4K cameras. They're $100 each. Why wouldn't it be?

The major lesson of my late 30's (40 now) was that I had to start actually taking care of my body. I found that I had to stop shoving whatever I wanted into it, depriving it of whatever I felt was a hassle, getting whatever amount of sleep was convenient in the moment, and expecting it all to keep up.

In this regard, I think I was a slow learner.

The people claiming Ceuta is rightfully Moroccan territory are ridiculous. It's been a European city since 1415, originally taken by Portugal in the Reconquista. Ceuta has been a Spanish city since 1580.

No Muslim power has held the city in over 600 years.

And yet the same people will claim that the very minute some North African boats sail themselves over to Iberia, they have a right to be there.

(And yes, I'm not some illiterate who couldn't place Ceuta on a map before yesterday. I find the history of the Reconquista quite interesting.)
