A more accurate analogy is they are Artificial Simulacra which behave like living beings. Frieren just doesnt know what a robot is.

I feel like gen 5 while I love it the starters just don't excite me. I think they definitly aren't helped by the fact that the rest of the game has so many good and more fun mons.
