RECENTLY I had a conversation with an Architect who started her career not long ago. She reached out for some career advises and tips. I began by asking her a question I incessantly ask graduates joining the construction sector. “What are your 2 or 3 non-negotiable values?” As always, there is a long pause of blankness.
Listen, to really cut it out in this sector, with its stiff competition to be unprofessional, start by clearly defining what you will never do. Write them down as clearly as possible. List your values, your non-negotiables. It’s called installing your GUARDRAILS. You can work six ways to Sunday but without these today, like most, you will struggle in this sector. @TheAbnormalStu1
